Organic Shea Butter
Our organic shea butter is hand crafted by women using techniques that have been used for thousands of years. This amazing butter is full of natural goodness and one of the richest moisturisers available. Thick and nourishing, this all natural skin food is renowned the world over for its rehydrating properties. It is the perfect choice for dry skin. Organic shea butter has traditionally been used for all skincare needs. Super softening, shea butter is excellent for baby skincare, anti-aging face care, nourishing body care, muscle rubs, sun care and hair care. Solid at room temperature, leave your shea butter somewhere warm to soften up. Alternatively, take a small amount of shea butter from your tub and allow it to warm and soften in the palm of your hand. Apply some to dry skin after a shower while the skin is still warm for the best results.
Ethical trading:
Our organic shea butter is sourced from a women’s project in Ghana. Shea butter is an important resource to many communities. Regardless of their indigenous knowledge, women are often excluded from mainstream employment because they do not have a formal education. Organic shea butter provides a valuable and sustainable source of income for these women, ensuring better amenities for their communities. The women’s project produce environmentally friendly and socially responsible African products such as African black soap. The project enables thousands of Ghanaian women to supply an international market with their produce. Supporting such projects facilitates the protection of trees, ie. the shea parklands in the Western Savannah. It also preserves biodiversity and the natural habitats of hippopotamus living by the Black Volta River.
Please Note: Shea Butter contains a natural substance which is similar to latex and it’s use should be avoided by people with a latex allergy.
Linda –
I use the shea butter after every shower and wear it very sparingly on the still wet skin. Cares great, absorbs quickly and I have no dry skin anymore. Very pleasant mild smell.
Nieves –
The smell at first is very strong, but when you open it a couple of times the smell decreases. It hydrates a lot and with very little product is enough. What I like most is that you help the development of Ghanaian women, although I would love the boat to be made of glass.
Ann –
Very, very good, the skin just absorbs it so easy, after few minutes of an application the skin is dry but soft and supple!
Martina –
Practical, uncomplicated care in between. Good for rough skin, lips or hair tips.
