Myrrh and Frankincense Balm 50ml
£8.95
This rich luxurious balm combines the power of two aromatic tree resins, frankincense and myrrh. These resins have been revered since ancient times as purifying skin tonics. Myrrh is powerfully cleansing and is ideal for dry, damaged or problem skin. Frankincense is a superb skin tonic and promotes a healthy skin tone. Together they provide an intensive skin treatment for marked, blemished or congested skin. A nourishing balm for tired skin, we love using it on our hands and feet before bedtime. This balm may also be used as an aromatic chest or back rub.
Description
Our myrrh and frankincense balm harnesses the rejuvenating properties of two wonderful tree resins.  Both of these oils are among the oldest aromatics known to humankind. Myrrh essential oil is an effective cleansing and purifying oil. Frankincense essential oil is invigorating, rejuvenating and grounding.
The virtues of Myrrh
This rich, earthy essential oil is powerfully cleansing and purifying. A natural skin tonic, myrrh has superb antiseptic and healing qualities.  It is often used in natural toothpastes and mouth washes. We sell pure myrrh essential oil too, so you can add it to your own creations.  You’ll find it very earthy and quite sticky, it’s one of the richest oils around. This oil is a key ingredient in many of our skincare products for it’s tonic and anti-septic properties.
The power of Frankincense
Frankincense can really help to treat the signs of ageing, as well as scarring and other blemishes. For thousands of years, African and Bedouin tribes have used this amazing tree resin to purify and tone the skin. It encourages healthy new skin and improves the skin structure and texture. Frankincense is rejuvenating to aging, mature skin, scarred tissue and dull, lifeless complexions and is one of the finest oils to help rescue unhappy or damaged skin. It makes a great addition to a facial oil blend. We love to use it for problem or mature skin types. Frankincense is a lovely oil to use if you feel stressed or under pressure, as it is believed to relax the breathing. Massage a little balm into your pulse points or use as a chest rub.
When I’m feeling under the weather, I like to add a drop of lemon oil to my balm and massage it well into my feet before bedtime. Don’t forget to wear socks to protect your bedding!

I ordered this to massage a big stomach scar after an operation where the wound had got infected. It has been amazingly good, a pleasure to apply and smelling nice. It was also reassuring to me that it contained myrrh and frankincense, which are good antibacterials as I was fearing re-infection. It is also excellent for the face, although you need to use it sparingly as it is not a cream but a smooth balm. I now always have a tub in reserve. I wouldn’t be without it.

I had to try this straight away once it arrived. The consistency of the balm in my opinion feels like butter icing, instead of a more waxy hard-to-melt balm. It is incredibly smooth and glides on the skin unlike other balms. I adored the way the Frankincense and Myrrh uplifted the senses and I can see myself using this balm for meditation and yoga. Thank you so much Akamuti. I will be back to try your other products!!
