Description

Organic Shea Butter

Our organic shea butter is hand crafted by women using techniques that have been used for thousands of years.  This amazing butter is full of natural goodness and one of the richest moisturisers available. Thick and nourishing, this all natural skin food is renowned the world over for its rehydrating properties. It is the perfect choice for dry skin.  Organic shea butter has traditionally been used for all skincare needs. Super softening, shea butter is excellent for baby skincare, anti-aging face care, nourishing body care, muscle rubs, sun care and hair care. Solid at room temperature, leave your shea butter somewhere warm to soften up. Alternatively, take a small amount of shea butter from your tub and allow it to warm and soften in the palm of your hand. Apply some to dry skin after a shower while the skin is still warm for the best results.

Ethical trading:

Our organic shea butter is sourced from a women’s project in Ghana. Shea butter is an important resource to many communities. Regardless of their indigenous knowledge, women are often excluded from mainstream employment because they do not have a formal education. Organic shea butter provides a valuable and sustainable source of income for these women, ensuring better amenities for their communities.  The women’s project produce environmentally friendly and socially responsible African products such as African black soap. The project enables thousands of Ghanaian women to supply an international market with their produce. Supporting such projects facilitates the protection of trees, ie. the shea parklands in the Western Savannah. It also preserves biodiversity and the natural habitats of hippopotamus living by the Black Volta River.

Please Note: Shea Butter contains a natural substance which is similar to latex and it’s use should be avoided by people with a latex allergy.

A must for dry skin! This shea butter is simply incredible. After months of searching for an all-natural product to deeply and intensely moisturise my body, I’ve finally found a winner with this shea butter! I find even with my very, very dry, flakey skin that it soaks it up and stays hydrated for a full day if not two, something I could’ve only dreamed of before. Best of all, it’s pure and organic. It’s simply worth every last penny!

Excellent quality. This shea butter is excellent quality and very versatile. I mainly use it on dry, flaky parts of my body. I also combine it with Akamuti’s jojoba oil to make a fantastic natural hand and body butter.

Perfect for dry and sensitive skin. Suffering from psoriasis I am always on the look-out for products that will take care of those rough, flaky patches. This works wonders. It provides long lasting moisturisation and at the same time is completely natural. No more worrying about chemicals or added “nasties”. This is the ultimate natural skin food.

I am never without a pot of this and have been using it for years.
I usually buy two or three at a time…just in case!
Excellent on feet, in particular. (Just put socks on while it soaks in.)
