This fabulous African Black Soap is traditionally handcrafted & fairly traded with Women's co operatives in Ghana, West Africa. It is made with 48% pure, organically grown shea butter & wildcrafted coconut oil. The lye that is used in the saponification process, is made from the ash of cocoa pods. There are no chemicals, preservatives, colour enhancers or fragrances added to the recipe. The black colour of the soap is developed as a result of the saponification process which it undergoes. It is completely free from black dyes & charcoal.

Using your black soap
Our African Black Soap has a very mild scent & a wonderful creamy lather, which leaves your skin moisturised & soft. African Black Soap is one of the healthiest soaps for the skin due to the purity and simplicity of the ingredients. Black Soap is recommended for young & old, or anyone with tender skin. It leaves the skin smooth and soft & as a facial soap it is believed to be excellent for clearing acne. It also has an excellent reputation for moisturising the skin & is believed to combat rashes, dry & eczema prone skin, as well as a natural shampoo for optimum scalp health. It is suitable for all skin types.

How to keep your soap at its best
African Black Soap absorbs water easily, so keep your bar on a soap dish. This soap is softer than commercial soaps so it is easy to slice a piece of the main bar when using as a shampoo bar. As this is a pure product, you may get the occasional grain of grit in it , so rub it into your hands first, rather than straight on the body, to avoid being scratched! There are so many different ways to use this soap, so experiment and let us know your tips on using African Black Soap!
